Want to have paper that lights up? Or maybe a super thin flexible foil emitting a nice ambient light? Then electroluminescence (EL) is the way to go! Lumoza is specialized in printing and designing complete EL-lighting applications. We offer noise-free EL-lamps due to our own Lumoza® engineered power supplies.
How does the wondrous world of electroluminescence work? If we place electroluminescent phosphor particles between two electrodes and apply an alternating current (AC), light will be emitted.
How is an EL-lamp constructed and how thin is thin?
The standard build up is quite straight forward: it starts with a back electrode that can be screen printed on almost any substrate! An insulating later of dielectric is printed on top of the back electrode followed by the layer containing the essential phosphor particles. To complete the EL-device a transparent electrode is patterned onto the phosphor layer. Now the EL-lamp is ready to fire all of its photons to its viewers!
The thickness of the device is lower than the thickness of a human hair! This makes our EL-products very applicable where flexible lighting is in important issue.
